The Burdekin Dry Tropics Region Pest Management strategy has been developed to co-ordinate a regional approach to pest management. This regional approach will lead to better pest management results environmentally, culturally, and financially.
The primary objectives of the strategy includes increasing efficiency and effectiveness of pest, management actions, including education and awareness, improving the co-ordination of on-ground activities, developing partnerships and the management of pest and weed spread along transport and riparian corridors.
The Centralized Mapping Database has been created to ensure that detailed property data is stored and managed in a secure location. The information used from this database will assist the Regional Pest.
